River Reclaimed: The Lifeblood of Navajo Nation

For folks interested in Tribal water rights, check out this recently released podcast series, which recounts the history and ongoing efforts of the Navajo Nation to secure water rights and to ensure access to clean water for all the Nation’s citizens (many of whom still lack access to clean, running water today). Hosted by Dine journalist Charly Edsitty and featuring the voices of Dine leaders involved in the Nation’s current and historic settlement negotiations, the series provides an in-depth, on-the-ground look at the often-challenging nature of securing approval for Tribal water rights settlements (both within Native communities and in the halls of Congress, where the Navajo Nation’s most recent settlement proposal remains stalled).
