2.4 BCM of Water to Be Transferred from Sea of Oman to Iran’s Provinces

Via Tasnim News, a report on Iran’s plan to transfer 2.4 billion cubic meters of water from the Sea of Oman to the three provinces of Sistan and Balouchestan, South Khorasan and Khorasan Razavi:

Speaking in a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, chaired by President Ebrahim Raisi, Abbas Aliabadi submitted a comprehensive report on the implementation of the plan for transferring water from the Sea of Oman to the three provinces and called it a giant project at the international level.

No similar project at this scale has so far been implemented in any country, he said. 

With a length of 1,800 km, this water conveyance pipeline will be equipped with 19 pumping stations and a 12-kilometer tunnel for conveying pressurized water, he noted.
